It sucks that you couldn't use AdSense armyone. They tend to be really picky about content. What you could do is try to look at other networks that aren't. Personally I have meddled with AdBrite and Burst Media which pay by impression and they're not too bad in terms of generating some income to support your site. You could always try those for a few weeks and see how it goes. Have you tried Amazon's affiliated program? They didn't work so well for me but these days you never know right?This is the thing about hosted blogs. You don't have to care about CPU usage, band with, etc. but they do have total power over your blogging life which sucks. Also sucks, hosting your own blog! I've had my fair share of headaches til the point that I can't really take it armyone. Whatever it is I would suggest to avoid Media Temple GS service as they would charge you additional for GPU usage. It's real bad on image heavy sites. I should know!WordPress is the most common platform available, common being the key word here so if anything goes wrong chances are you can find a solution on Google.
